Gustav Klimt (1862 - 1918) was an Austrian painter. He is known for his unique paintings that combine elements of symbolism and Art Nouveau. Klimt's works are often characterized by sensuality, eroticism, and spirituality and are distinguished by their ornamental and decorative aesthetic. Particularly famous are his portraits of women, which are frequently surrounded by golden leaves and abstract patterns.
