Louis Valtat (1869-1952) was a French painter of Post-Impressionism. He was known for his vibrant colors, dynamic brushstrokes, and his ability to capture light in his paintings. Valtat was a close friend and colleague of artists such as Henri Matisse and André Derain and was part of the Fauvism movement. His works encompass a variety of subjects, including landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, with nature and rural life often being central.
