Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse (1869–1954) was a French painter, printmaker, and sculptor, regarded as one of the most influential artists of modern times. Known as a leading figure of Fauvism, his works are characterized by vivid colors, bold shapes, and a focus on simplification. Matisse experimented with various techniques, including collage, and created iconic works such as The Dance and The Joy of Life. His later works, particularly the "Papiers découpés" (cut-outs), demonstrate his innovative and radical approach to art. Matisse left a legacy that continues to inspire artists to this day.
