The Wadi Rum desert is a must-see when travelling in Jordan. This desert is best known for the story of T. E. Lawrence, which was made into the feature film " Lawrence of Arabia".
Jordan has many cultural treasures to offer, but for me Wadi Rum was the highlight of my round trip.
The vast plains of sand with the rugged sandstone mountains resting on a granite base make for an incredible landscape.
Of course, this Arabian country is also home to the well-known dromedaries that travel through the desert landscape. The picture shows some dromedaries resting after a hike. Behind the wide plain, the mountain massif of " Al Qattar" rises steeply, and more of these sandstone mountains can be seen in the background.
The landscape is gentle and somewhat dreamlike.
You could be forgiven for thinking that Lawrence is about to appear and ride off again on one of the dromedaries.
Bring a little desert adventure into your home. Perhaps it will also awaken the desire to travel for a little adventure.
