Nature is my passion and I want to share it with other people through my pictures. Whenever possible, I go out into nature with my camera.
I worked as a landscape gardener for over 30 years. That means working creatively with nature and paying attention to the little things, because they have a disruptive effect on the overall end result. It's the same with photography.
Even in my free time, I prefer to be out in nature, whether hiking or cycling. And my garden is a big photo lab, as I always say. As a connoisseur, I have designed it to be insect-friendly, so it blooms all year round. Even in winter, wild bees and bumblebees fly through my garden. So of course macro photography is a hobby.
If you're out in nature and take your time, you can find a beautiful subject anywhere. The trick is to recognise it and capture it in the right way.
As with creative work as a landscape gardener, you also have to improvise when taking photos. Especially in outdoor photography. The weather often turns out differently than predicted.
I'm an intuitive person who trusts my instincts. That's why I prefer to go out alone to take photos, so I'm not disturbed and can concentrate fully. I can also spontaneously change my destination if my intuition tells me to go somewhere else. My intuition has always proved its worth so far.
