I took this photo at the Beekhuizerzand near Harderwijk on the Veluwe. The Scotch fir in the photo is on a dune at the edge of the sand drift. I chose this Scots Pine because it stands beautifully free and it also has beautifully shaped trunks. When I took this picture it was already a summer evening with beautiful weather. The evening sun also falls beautifully on the trunks of this Scots Pine. You can see that the trunks only come together under the sand. I have chosen this photo to convert to black and white, in terms of post-processing I have not done much more. I find the free-standing Scots pines beautiful to photograph because they often have beautifully shaped trunks and branches, they are usually on sand drifts and heaths.
