I took this photo at the Beekhuizerzand near Harderwijk in the Veluwe. As you can see the heather was in bloom when I took this picture, there was even a clear blue sky over the Veluwe. In the background you can see the trees of the forest edge, they are mainly pines. If you look closely you can see the slope of a sand drift. The heather on the Beekhuizerzand is along a bicycle path and so is the heather in the photo. I used a polarizing filter for this photo to make the blue sky as well as the purple heather stand out better. I had put my camera on a tripod. Furthermore, I chose to render this photo in 16:9.
