I have this black and white photo of a Scots pine made on the Beekhuizerzand in the Municipality of Harderwijk. The Beekhuizerzand is a sand drift on the Veluwe and is used by the military as an exercise ground. You can see from the roots of the pine that this tree was planted as a seed on a dune. Fortunately, Scots pines can withstand having sand blown away at their roots or even being buried. You can see from the tree that it was sunny when I took the photo, in the background you can see some clouds. I placed my tripod on the slope of a dune and also chose to convert this photo to black and white. I also chose to take this photo in portrait mode to emphasize the height of the tree. Scots pines on a sand drift or on a heath are my favorite trees to photograph though because they are all shaped differently.
