The Plaza de Armas is a square you can find in any Peruvian village, no matter how big or small. These squares are left over from the time the conquistadores conquered cities in South America. Each square has roughly the same shape, but is decorated differently. This square in Carhuaz, in Peru's high mountains, was decorated with beautiful flowers, which made a nice combination with the traditional costume of the woman in the photo.
