Near Laguna Wilcacocha in Peru's high mountains, a farming couple is separating the chaff from the wheat. By throwing up the mix of chaff and wheat and letting the wind carry the chaff away, they keep only the wheat. In the background in the valley is the village of Huaraz, the gateway to the Cordillera Blanca, Peru's highest mountain range. The snow-capped peak to the left of centre is Nevado Huascarán, Peru's highest mountain at 6768 metres.
