I took this photo on the Hulshorsterzand near Nunspeet on the Veluwe. When I took this photo, there were puddles on the sand drifts because of the much rain that fell in the days before I took this photo, it was already a wet year in the Netherlands so the groundwater level was higher. I used a low vantage point for this photo to make the puddle in the foreground stand out better, on the dune in the background you can see another viewpoint overlooking the Hulshorster sand. Most of the trees on the Hulshorsterzand are Scots pines, there are also some birches on this sand drift on the Veluwe. You can see from the birch on the dune in the background that it was winter when I took this photo. It was a reasonably sunny morning when I took this photo, you can still see some clouds in the blue sky even though it is not much.
