About the artwork

A black-and-white shot captures the stark image of a dead tree on the Scottish moors on Isle of Skye. The tree, with its bare and twisted branches, lies lonely but proud among the flowering heather plants. The contours of the tree are sharply and dramatically outlined against the stark, empty sky above. The branches seem to point longingly at the heather flowers.

Although the shot is in black and white, the scene exudes an intense sense of desolation and quiet strength. The texture of the plants so low to the ground and the fine details in the dead tree are enhanced by the monochrome palette, giving each element a raw and pure look.

The sky, though sleek blue in reality, is rendered in the black-and-white shot as a bright, contrasting plane that further emphasises the starkness of the dead tree. Broken only by a double line left by a plane in the sky, which takes the viewer from left to right in the image and makes you wonder what becomes visible behind this hill, behind the dead tree.

This powerful black-and-white image captures the rugged beauty and mysterious nature of the Scottish landscape, with the dead tree acting as a symbol of impermanence and untamed nature.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
