Here we see a typical Scottish landscape on Isle of Skye, near Fairy Glen. The picture was taken in early spring and the mountain is still overgrown with low, brown-green herbs and grasses. A large waterfall cuts through the landscape and leads the viewer from the top down to the shed at the bottom of the picture. A shed that also shows us the scale of the landscape and the waterfall. On either side of the waterfall, we see the terraced ground layers that are so characteristic of this area.
If we look a little longer, we see on the mountain scattered across the terrain, grazing cows and sheep, their silent presence harmoniously merging with the rustic landscape.
This idyllic scene, taken in the afternoon, exudes tranquillity without being boring. The lack of a clear horizon and blue or cloudy sky in this picture, contributes to this. The shades of green and brown will complement many an interior nicely, especially with a few large houseplants nearby.
