Here we look out over the Quiraing on Isle of Skye, Scotland, during a beautiful sunrise. It was a quiet day in early spring. The road is deserted, leading the viewer from left to right through the picture. The clouds break open to let the sun and blue sky through. The only sign of life, barely perceptible, are the sheep, the white dots, in the valley to the right of the road. You feel simultaneously big and small looking at this picture.
The rustic landscape has a somewhat prehistoric feel and at the same time exudes the serenity of hidden secrets that lie undiscovered beneath the surface. Thanks to the newly rising sun, soft shadows glide through the image. At the same time, this landscape does not necessarily feel Scottish either, but also a bit American. A picture to dream away at, to fantasise about your next trip.
