This is a familiar image of The Storr (or Tough) and yet different, which is why this picture too should not be missed here. This photo should take your breath away. As the light from the rising sun shines on the unusual shape of the rock pillars. With this photo large on the wall, it shouldn't be hard to imagine yourself standing here.
The Storr is a rocky hill (to the Dutch, a mountain), formed by a landslide, on the Trotternish peninsula of Isle of Skye, Scotland. It is a highlight of Skye's landscape and a personal highlight when you climbed to the top to take this photo, really tough.
The jagged pillars on the right of the picture contrast nicely with the gentle undulations in the landscape and the soft colours of sunrise on the horizon. The tallest and most famous of those pillars is the Old Man of Storr.
It is a colourful picture that remains pleasant to look at every time. And those two little clouds just give it a playful effect.
