About ‘Wee White House in autumn colours, Glencoe’ by Richard Nell

In the Glencoe valley stands the famous Wee White House, small and bright white against a landscape that slowly changes colour in autumn. The mountains and fields surrounding the cottage are warmly coloured in shades of orange, brown and gold, while the soft light of the season gives the whole scene a peaceful, almost melancholic atmosphere.

I took this photo during a tour of the Scottish Highlands, at a time when autumn was at its most beautiful. What struck me was the contrast between the simplicity of the cottage and the richness of colours in the surrounding nature. It feels like a place where you can stop for a moment, breathe and experience the space around you.

The atmosphere of this image is warm, quiet and inviting. It evokes a feeling of freedom and seclusion, but also of security in the vastness of the landscape. Technically, I opted for natural light and a calm composition, so that the cottage retains its place without dominating the landscape.

This work brings warmth and depth to an interior. It fits perfectly into modern, Scandinavian and natural living styles and appeals especially to people who love travel, nature and timeless landscapes with a gentle story.
