About ‘Winter at Huys te Warmont’ by Richard Nell

Just after a fresh snowfall, the Bos van Krantz in Warmond looked silent and almost untouched. The paths were coloured a soft white, the trees bore a thin layer of snow and among the wintry landscape the castle Huys te Warmont appeared, quietly hidden in the greenery of the Bulb Region. A place you might know from other seasons, but which shows itself from a very different side in winter.

What made this moment special was the silence. Snow not only muffles sound, but also time. Everything seems to slow down for a moment. The castle forms a sturdy, almost fairytale-like contrast to the fragile white surroundings around it. Between the trunks you keep catching glimpses of the building's contours, as if the forest deliberately only partly reveals it.

I made these images during a short walk, without any big plan, driven mainly by curiosity about how this place would show itself under a white blanket. The atmosphere is calm, cool and at the same time familiar. Typically Dutch, but with an almost romantic layering.

In an interior, these photos bring together nature, history and tranquillity. They fit well in spaces where you want to escape from the hustle and bustle and where you like to keep looking at them, day after day.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
