This photo was shot on the way back from Laguna 69, near Huaraz, Peru. This mountain area is best known for the many hikes you can do and Peru's highest mountains. On the left outside the picture is the summit of Huascarán, Peru's highest mountain at 6768 metres. For our tour to Laguna 69, we were picked up at 2.30 a.m. to see the sunrise in an arena of snow-capped peaks at an altitude of 4600 metres. As a result, we missed this view in the morning, and after a long and tiring hike at dizzying altitudes, we eventually returned to the valley (at 3900 metres) with this view. The stream comes from the mountain lakes around the valley, and the water is ice and ice cold.
