This photo is of Schiermonnikoog's lighthouse , they also call it the North Tower on Schiermonnikoog. The lamp is triggered automatically, the light beams spinning is characteristic of this tower. To this day, the tower is a beacon at night. It seems that weather reports for shipping are also made in the tower and sent to ships. To take this photo, I did have to play around with the shutter speed and iso. Because of the slower shutter speed, I had put my camera on a tripod. Besides the stars, if you look closely you can also see a small trace of a satellite. There is also a radar on the tower to keep an eye on shipping, because of the longer shutter speed it can be seen more or less as a disk in this photo. This lighthouse on Schiermonnikoog is owned by Rijkswaterstaat, which also operates and manages it.
