I took this photo on the Staverden estate where the rhododendrons were blooming. For this photo I used a reportage flash with a homemade snoot (made ven a chips can), I also used a reflection screen to light the other side of the flowers. As you can see it is the way of lighting that makes the flowers stand out perfectly. If you look closer you can still see the raindrops on the petals, it rained the day before. On Staverden estate there are several rhododendrons that were blooming on the day of the photo, most rhododendrons on Staverden estate bloom purple. You can still see the leaves of the shrub under the flowers in the dark. For this photo I chose to take portrait/standing mode to make it look more beautiful.
