The Cityscape of Maastricht is composed of just about every monumental building and church in the city. These have been photographed piece by piece and brought together again in this cityscape along the river Maas. All of monumental Maastricht at a glance, just as Simon de Bellomonte painted in the 16th century. Romanesque and Gothic churches like St Servatius' Basilica, medieval buildings like the Dinghuis, and buildings in the Dutch classicism style, with examples like the City Hall. Characteristic brick buildings with hard stone details, the red bricks of St John's Church, and a strong German architectural influence, especially visible in St Servaas Basilica.
St John's, St Servatius and Our Lady's Basilica are, of course, at the centre. Andree Rieu's little castle and one of Spinx's factory buildings flank both ends of the cityscape.
