This photo was taken in late 2022 at Lake Chalalaka, in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia - where I was living at the time.
I was doing a photo series of the birds at this lake, wanting to photograph them in evening light. When it came time to go home, I figured I could also capture the lake as a whole. So I took a few pictures's. Only when I got home did I see how beautiful the result had become: in the sky a group of cranes, to the right a group of flamingo's gleaming in the late sunlight.
I appreciated the serene atmosphere of this photo, which really captured the mood that was actually at the lake. Looking at the photo, it is as if I am there again.
