Towards the end of the day - we were on our way home - we drove past Ziway, Ethiopia.
This town lies on a large lake, where many bird species can often be seen. We decided to stop for an hour so I could take some photos's.
At some point, this beautiful crowned crane landed not too far away. It blends beautifully with the wetland landscape, which looked very advantageous at this time of year, with numerous flowers in bloom.
As far as I am concerned, the crowned crane is one of the most beautiful birds in existence, that I was able to take this photo felt like a gift!
