I took this photo of the Koppelpoort in Amersfoort. You can even see the reflection of the gate in the water of the Eem which flows under the gate. This photo was one of the last photos I took that evening, considering the time of day it was actually night. As they were replacing the lighting for the modern LED lighting at the time this photo was taken, the gate was temporarily not lit, and it doesn't matter if you work with long shutter speeds in combination with the light pollution you have in a city. For an evening photo, you don't really need extra lights against buildings. The lamps that still worked are mainly street lamps to light the street of which a few can be seen in this photo. This side of the Koppelpoort you see from the train as you approach Amersfoort Centraal, it is also the side of the railway.
