I took this photo of a magnolia in the backyard. As you can see, this magnolia was flowering when I took this photo, it was even beautiful sunny spring weather. Besides the red flowers, there were already green leaves on this bush, you can also see bits of blue sky through this bush. To take this picture of a magnolia, I used a 55-300mm lens to get the flowers that were already quite high closer, making it a detailed shot of this shrub. You can still see the branches even though I don't find it distracting in this photo. As you can see, the sunlight came from the side, creating a nice shadow effect.
