About "Abandoned path between old factory buildings"

About the artwork

This image shows the very first sight upon arrival at a former munitions factory, hidden deep in the forest. Two elongated buildings flank an abandoned path, their windows empty, walls crumbling, and nature silently grabbing back its chance. Bare trees grow right through windows and walls - as silent witnesses of what once was.

What struck me on entering this area was the intense silence. The atmosphere was heavy but not menacing - rather melancholic. The desolation is palpable but not empty: this place whispers stories. Every detail - from the crumbling plasterwork to the trees making their way through concrete - contributes to a sense of timelessness and decay.

I took this photo during an urbex exploration, in black and white to add to the rawness and transience. The symmetry of the path, flanked by abandoned buildings, gives the scene an almost cinematic character. To me, this image symbolises the intersection between past and oblivion.

This work fits perfectly into an interior of someone who loves characterful, raw images. Think of lovers of history, architecture, military sites or urbex. It brings peace, mystery and a touch of adventure to the wall.
