This Scots pine stands on the Hulshorsterzand between Harderwijk and Nunspeet in the Veluwe. The Hulshorsterzand is named after the nearby village of Hulshorst in the municipality of Nunspeet. I took this photo because of the different trunks and the available sunlight falling on this Scots pine. To take this photo I was standing on a dune, nevertheless to be able to take this one I had to grab my 18-55mm kit lens because otherwise it was too close. I was glad the sand wasn't dusting, though, so I could change my lenses without the drifting sand getting into the camera. As you can see, clouds were also hanging over the day I took this photo, fortunately there were also patches of blue sky between the clouds. Because of the whimsical shapes of the Scots pine and that they sometimes stand free, the Scots pine is one of my favourite trees to photograph.
