I took this close-up of heather on Cyriassic Field near Harderwijk in the Veluwe. For this photo, I chose a low vantage point so that part of a heather branch stood out against the cloudy sky. The cloudy sky appears darker because the heather bush was in the sunlight. As you can see, this heather bush was almost completely finished flowering, it still had some purple flowers on it. Despite being a close-up, I had a 35mm lens on my Nikon D7200 which is not actually a macro lens. I chose to take this photo standing so as to emphasise the height of the heather branch. In post-processing, I did post-process slightly so that the colours came out just a bit better.
