About ‘Views over Bishoftu/Debre Zeit’ by Arie Maasland

The city of Bishoftu/Debre Zeit is located about'southeast of the capital Addis Ababa. It is famous for a number of beautiful crater lakes. In the foreground Lake Babogaya, on the left Lake Koriftu and at the top Lake Hora - where the Oromo people celebrate a big party every year.
I took the photo with my drone. I used the hdr technique: five photos'with different exposures were merged and post-processed, improving the amount of colour and detail in the photo.
This photo was taken in the late afternoon, which is well reflected in the lighting and shadows. The drone was flying at a height of more than 100 metres, making for a panoramic view.
I lived in Bishoftu for over four years and spent a lot of time with my camera at these lakes. This photo sums up many wonderful memories.

My name is Arie Maasland (1976). I lived in Ethiopia for over four years, during which time I spent a lot of time taking nature photos: birds, landscapes and macro photos (insects, flowers, butterflies).
Ethiopian nature is beautiful and the photographic conditions are often favourable (read: lots of light), so this has resulted in some successful photos.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
