About ‘Silent Woman’ by Olga Talsma

In this tranquil and layered portrait, emotion, memory and nature seem to slowly merge. The woman exudes calm, introspection and a fragile strength. Her face emerges subtly from between transparent layers of paint, the use of natural materials, botanical forms and abstract lines, lending the work an almost dreamlike and meditative atmosphere.

The deep blue tones form a powerful contrast with the warm earth tones and soft gold and rust accents. This creates a balance between light and shadow, stillness and movement. The painting incorporates countless small details: imprints of leaves and ferns, rough brushstrokes, scratches and spontaneous lines that together create a rich and vibrant surface. During the painting process, I work intuitively, allowing emotions, materials and natural textures to merge.

The result is a painting that not only depicts a face, but above all evokes a sense of tranquillity and connection. This artwork brings warmth, depth and character to an interior. Thanks to its rich layering and powerful presence, the work continues to reveal new details and appeals to lovers of modern, expressive art with a soulful and poetic quality.

Olga Talsma, born and raised on Schiermonnikoog, where she used to ride horses across the beach and dunes, now lives in Drenthe, where nature is a major source of inspiration. She creates powerful portraits of women in which elegance, strength and freedom take centre stage – the very qualities she recognises in the horse as a metaphor.

Originally trained as a graphic designer, Olga chose to devote herself entirely to traditional painting, where she found her own…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
