About ‘woman’ by Olga Talsma

This expressive portrait of Sinéad O’'’Connor captures the intense vulnerability and inner strength of a woman who never hid her emotions. The powerful gaze, the raw brushstrokes and the layered paint textures give the work an almost tangible emotional charge. The subtle details of the face and the dark contrasts create an atmosphere of silence, struggle and freedom all at once.
During the painting process, I let myself be guided by feeling and intuition. Not only her music, but above all her courage to be completely herself formed the inspiration for this work. The loose brushwork and the various layers of paint enhance the character of the portrait and give the painting a lively, almost breathing quality.
This work radiates both strength and vulnerability and immediately draws the eye in an interior. The combination of expression, depth and emotion makes it a special work of art for lovers of music, portraiture and powerful female icons. The painting invites you to look longer and discover ever-new emotions and details.

Olga Talsma, born and raised on Schiermonnikoog, where she used to ride horses across the beach and dunes, now lives in Drenthe, where nature is a major source of inspiration. She creates powerful portraits of women in which elegance, strength and freedom take centre stage – the very qualities she recognises in the horse as a metaphor.

Originally trained as a graphic designer, Olga chose to devote herself entirely to traditional painting, where she found her own…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
