Silver and gold in the morning light, after a night of frost.
It was beautiful at the Zevenhuizerplas on Saturday 1 February 2025. The dew was frozen and hanging on all sides from the cane plumes.
Actually, I did quite little on these photos's. They came out of my camera perfectly. Some noise was removed, that's all. The bokeh in the background was because there were frozen plumes everywhere. It was magical!
This birding area is famous in South Holland. Many species of birds and waterfowl live in these reeds. Sometimes very special species such as the water rail and bittern. But also herons of all shapes and sizes, swans, special ducks. You can find it all at the zevenhuizerplas. The reeds are mainly inhabited by Reed Buntings, but with some luck you may also find Bearded Buntings here.
This photo is beautiful even without birds. The colours gold, silver and taupe are great for today's interiors. Hang it above your bed or as a diptych in the living room or dining area. See my works for the second canvas of this series.
