Tips for use

About ‘Krämerbrücke in Erfurt’ by Till Göhringer

The picture shows the famous Krämerbrücke in Erfurt - a unique structure that is one of the city's most famous sights. The bridge spans the River Gera and is completely covered with medieval houses, giving it the appearance of a small alleyway.

The narrow, tightly packed half-timbered houses on the bridge are picturesque and charming. Their façades are colourfully painted, some with wooden decorations and small bay windows. The lower floors are home to small shops, galleries and cafés - the shop windows provide an insight into Erfurt's diverse arts and crafts and creative scene.

You can see people strolling across the bridge, some stopping in front of the shop windows or taking photos of the special atmosphere. The sky above the bridge is slightly cloudy, the light is soft and even, which makes the colours of the houses stand out.

The bank of the Gera can be seen at the edge of the picture, from where the view of the bridge can be enjoyed particularly well. Trees and bushes frame the scene and enhance the idyllic flair.
