About ‘Hadith, Woman, Life, Freedom’ by Olga Talsma

This expressive and multi-layered portrait forms part of the Woman Life Freedom collection and is inspired by the strength, vulnerability and courage of Iranian women who continue to fight for freedom and individuality. Hadis does not look directly at the viewer, but appears lost in thought — as if memories, hope and inner strength are converging in silence.

The painting is built up from many transparent layers of paint, organic textures, botanical prints and spontaneous lines. The soft blues, green tones and earthy nuances merge into a dreamy and emotional image in which new details continually come to light. The weathered textures and subtle traces in the work symbolise life experience, change and resilience.

During the painting process, I work intuitively, allowing feeling, movement and material to find their own way. This creates a portrait that not only shows a face, but above all evokes a sense of freedom, feminine strength and connection with nature. The Woman Life Freedom collection stands for courage, identity and the universal desire to live freely. Through this work, I aim to keep memories alive and give space to their voices, so that their stories endure, visible, tangible and carried by art.

Olga Talsma

Olga Talsma, born and raised on Schiermonnikoog, where she used to ride horses across the beach and dunes, now lives in Drenthe, where nature is a major source of inspiration. She creates powerful portraits of women in which elegance, strength and freedom take centre stage – the very qualities she recognises in the horse as a metaphor.

Originally trained as a graphic designer, Olga chose to devote herself entirely to traditional painting, where she found her own…

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
