The painting belongs to my series: "Wild animals at the Kaiserstuhl". The motif shows a beautiful grey heron. I painted the large bird on a fluid art background in a naturalistic style. I made the background beforehand using the pouring technique in the colours blue, green and beige. It is a very lively picture due to the dynamics of the background and the bird looking attentively. Although the grey heron is standing still, the scene is full of life.
My works are characterised by a unique fusion of realism and abstraction. Animal motifs depicted with astonishing accuracy are set against flowing, abstract backgrounds that lend each work a dreamlike quality.
ARTWORK FOR KAISERSTUHL
The grey heron is often seen in meadows and fields around the Kaiserstuhl. Grey herons make few demands on their habitat, but there should be a body of water nearby! The wingspan is between 175 and 195 centimetres. The grey heron is also known by the name: Heron, because it hunts for small fish in shallow waters, but also for frogs, newts, snakes and aquatic insects. As well as field mice.
