? A beautiful kingfisher hovering over a dynamic background. The background suggests water, because this great little bird likes to live there, catching small fish. For example in my home region of Kaiserstuhl.
This painting has an expressionist background. The shapes and colours are based on a lot of chance, are unique and cannot be repeated. I painted the background using the so-called acrylic-pouring technique. I painted the kingfisher above it in a naturalistic style. I have partially coloured the bird's plumage with metallic blue.

Animals were and are highly symbolic protagonists in the visual arts! Animals are one of my favourite subjects in painting. They deserve particular attention because they are threatened worldwide. The extinction of species is in full swing, unfortunately!
