? Take a look at this fascinating work of art! On the left you see Frida, and on the right an African woman without a name. Although they have never met, they feel a close connection to each other, as if they know each other. It is as if their eyes meet, even if they are not looking directly at each other. Both seem very introverted, with a serious look or even pensive.
The figurative motif, the two portraits of women, and the abstract, wild background are juxtaposed as a field of tension. When looking at the picture, both parts dominate, which makes the artwork so incredibly exciting and stimulating for the senses.
The pictorial technique is an exciting mixture of abstraction, as the background blends in with the faces (intentionally, of course), and a real depiction of the faces.
