Flysch is a succession of sedimentary rocks formed in deep marine foreshore basins at the edge of a forming mountain range. While this all sounds very technical, it also produces some pretty colourful pictures. This is because they are all different rock types and the mineral stop is also different locally.
I photographed this one on the northern Spanish coast along the Bay of Biscay.
