Dark purple cornflower – macro shot against a yellow-green bokeh background by Laura Georgi Tier- und Ladschaftsfotografie

A single dark violet cornflower, sharply isolated against a
summer meadow, which blends completely into light and colour behind it. The delicately
serrated petals are packed closely together, forming a small, almost
velvety sphere – a deep violet with a hint of magenta that seems to float against the
bright yellow-green of the background. Two
further flowers appear out of focus in the upper third of the frame, lending the photograph
depth.

The photograph was taken with a wide aperture from a low angle. The extremely narrow
depth of field completely separates the flower from its surroundings and transforms an
ordinary meadow flower into a graphic motif. The colour contrast between violet
and yellow-green is no coincidence, but rather the very essence of the image: two
complementary colours that enhance one another.

As a wall hanging, this motif adds a bold, fresh touch. It works
particularly well in bright, neutrally decorated rooms that need a splash of colour
– in the living room, bedroom, hall, dining room, office, doctors’ surgeries,
beauty salons and waiting areas. The portrait format suits well next to doors, in
narrow wall niches and on gallery walls. On acrylic glass, the violet and green
appear particularly vivid, whilst on canvas the bloom appears softer.

A gift for gardening enthusiasts, meadow lovers and anyone who prefers floral prints with
vibrant colours rather than pastel shades.
