Colourful animal portrait: Vulture

by Christian Ovís

Colourful Animal Portrait: ‘Vulture’ depicts a stylised bird with a large, hooked beak and a striking yellow feathered collar. The head is turned to the right, so that the round orange eye and the curved beak are clearly visible. Turquoise and purple colours adorn the face. Pointed, golden-yellow feathers stand upright along the back of the head. The body and wing are dark brown, purple and deep blue.

The portrait centres on striking colour contrasts. The warm yellow feathers stand out against a cool blue-green background. Light accents along the beak and around the eye make the head instantly recognisable. On the wing, larger feather shapes follow one another in layers. The long neck and upright posture give the bird an alert appearance. The background remains simple, with soft planes and few distinct details, so that the eye is drawn to the head and the feathered collar.

This colourful bird wall decoration is ideal for a child’s bedroom, a study or a creative space with bold accents. Blue and turquoise combine well with cool-toned textiles; golden yellow and brown complement wood. On a plain wall, the profile is given plenty of space. Up close, you can spot the small patterns around the eye, the edge of the beak and the layered wing feathers.
