Rustic Beauty of the Countryside

by Christian Ovís

‘Rustic Beauty of the Countryside’ depicts a vast field of sunflowers with rolling fields in the distance. Large yellow flowers with dark brown centres stand out in the foreground amongst broad green leaves. Towards the background, the flowers become smaller and merge into a warm yellow strip. Behind the field lies a patchwork of green and golden-coloured plots beneath a pale blue-green sky.

The composition combines distinct floral forms with an open landscape. Tall stems on the left provide a vertical accent, whilst the sloping hillside draws the eye to the right and further into the fields. Small, light clouds and scattered splashes of colour bring the sky to life. Cool shadows and warm patches of light alternate amongst the greenery. The free, picturesque style gives the image a sunny and rural feel.

This sunflower wall decoration suits a living room, dining room or kitchen with natural tones. Yellow and green combine with wood, cream and earthy colours. A neutral wall emphasises the bright flowers and the space beyond the field. From a distance, you mainly see the broad yellow blooms and the rolling fields. Up close, the dark flower centres, large leaves and subtle colour variations in the stems stand out.
