Tasteful Treasures

by Christian Ovís

‘Tasty Treasures’ depicts an elongated arrangement of spices, red chillies and green herbs against a black background. Small bowls contain bright yellow and orange-red powders, black grains and dark brown seeds. Cinnamon sticks, star-shaped spices and loose peppercorns are scattered amongst them. Curved red chillies form a striking cluster on the right-hand side. Delicate green twigs and larger leaves frame the warm colours.

The composition has a clear vertical orientation. The round bowls add rhythm to the centre, whilst loose powders and leaves soften the strict arrangement. The strong light emphasises the sheen of the chillies and the different textures in the bowls. Warm red, yellow and orange stand out against cool green and deep shadow. The dark open space on either side keeps the arrangement compact and well-organised.

This culinary wall decoration is ideal for a kitchen, dining room or space for cooking enthusiasts. The warm, spicy colours combine well with wood, dark cupboards or a calm, light-coloured wall. Green can be incorporated through plants and accessories. From a distance, the bowls and red chillies stand out. Up close, the individual grains, tiny herb leaves and traces of powder become visible. The display offers a recognisable kitchen theme with plenty of variety in colour and texture.
