Blue cornflower in a summer meadow – close-up with bokeh by Laura Georgi Tier- und Ladschaftsfotografie

The cornflower as we know it: a star formed of narrow, serrated
petals in that clear blue which has even been given its own name in German
– ‘cornflower blue’. At its centre sits a dense ring of
magenta-coloured tubular flowers, which provides a warm contrast to the cool colour of the outer petals.
The flower is on the right-hand side of the picture, whilst the meadow melts into soft
swathes of colour towards the left.

The photograph shows not just a flower, but an entire summer in miniature:
a second, violet flower blurs into the background, next to it a seed head that has already
faded, and at the top of the frame a yellow flower. Blooming, fading
and regrowth coexist here in a very confined space – photographed with
a wide aperture, so that only the single bloom provides a point of focus.

As a wall hanging, this motif brings a sense of freshness to the room without being overpowering. Blue and
green have a cool, calming effect and complement light, natural and Scandinavian
interiors – in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, hallway, office,
surgeries and waiting areas. The cornflower blue stands out particularly clearly
on acrylic glass, whilst on canvas or fine art paper the meadow appears softer.

A gift for gardening enthusiasts, nature lovers and anyone who finds wildflowers
more beautiful than cultivated blooms.
