The central figure of the painting is the mystical Amazon queen Myrina. Painted in great detail on a special background using my secret technique. Myrina is depicted in the colours blue and dark orange, which shows her war paint. This blue also serves as a contrast to the warrior's dark, warm skin colour. It is a very special motif that looks expressively at the viewer. With a serious but not unfriendly look, determined and self-confident.
The special thing about this portrait is the fusion or connection of the background with the subject. This gives the picture dynamism and character of its own. The whole series is conceived in this way. The woman in this painting is part of the series: Special Women.
Myrina (ancient Greek Μύρινα Mýrina) is a queen of the Amazons in Greek mythology in Libya. Her story can be found in Diodorus' Universal History in book 3, sections 54-55.
"Myrina gathered an army of thirty thousand foot soldiers and three thousand horsemen and they invaded the land of the Atlanteans. They defeated the inhabitants of the city of Cernê. To terrify the neighbouring peoples, they slew the men, took the children and women into slavery and devastated the city. (...)" Quoted from Wikipedia.
