It was early April when I saw from the shore that the swans had finished building their nest on an island in the lake. Only a few days later, the female swan began to lay eggs in the nest and hatch them. During the 35- to 38-day incubation period, the male swan always stayed close to her to defend the territory against intruders. After a good month of waiting, the time had finally come and ten little swan chicks had hatched. Here you can see one of the newly hatched chicks on its mother's back. It didn't seem to dare to enter the water yet, preferring to stay with its mom for a while. Its siblings were all swimming wildly through the water. They were all so cute! Unfortunately, none of the chicks survived this year. Still, I'm glad I got to experience this wonderful moment and capture it with this great shot.
