I took this photo on the Hulshorsterheide against the Hulshorsterzand. The Hulshorsterzand is named after the neighbouring village of Hulshorst in the municipality of Nunspeet. You see this typical Veluwe landscape more often on the Veluwe. You can see from the path that there is sand under the heathland. You can also see quite a few young pines growing on this part of the Hulshorsterheide. The path you see in this photo goes towards the Hulshorsterzand that you can see in the background. In the past, sand from the Hulshorsterzand also rose on this spot. This piece of heathland belongs to the Leuvenum forest. which lies in 3 Veluwe municipalities.
