Two pigeons are snuggled up against each other in an old windowsill. The pair lovingly rest their heads against the other. Romance in the animal kingdom?
Is it not a coincidence that this photo was taken somewhere on the well-known "Romantic Road" in Germany?
The window is located on the attic floor of a medieval house. The shutter seems to be in place out of habit rather than thanks to the deteriorated hardware. To be able to take the picture at this height I made grateful use of the medieval city wall across the street which could be climbed. For myself, this photo evokes the term "cozy," the feeling of ultimate security: the cramped frame, the old materials and the visible affection between the two birds.
Because of the framing, the limestone frame immediately functions as a frame, which gives a nice effect on the wall - especially on a wall in an appropriate somewhat warmer color.
