A little owl portrait from the front with side light. beautiful deep green background. The little owl looks very tough into the camera. Stone owls are the smallest species of owl in the Netherlands and are not much bigger than a blackbird. They are mainly found on farms with grasslands in the area and hunt mainly for mice. The Little Owl is most active in the morning and evening but also sometimes shows itself during the day. The picture was taken at a falconer's. So this is not a wild little owl. The owl was sitting on a tree trunk, looking straight into the lens. In post-processing, the green tones were darkened a little as that suits the owl's expression better. This makes for a cool photo. You can take the owl's look in different ways: Angry, Grumpy, Focused or perhaps hungry. The photo fits perfectly in an interior with some darker tones. The light in the photo comes from the left so keep that in mind when hanging the photo. The background is very calm but is not uniformly green.
