About the artwork

A collage of two Young Cambodian graceful women serenely and meditatively contemplating the day with palm trees and the Buddhist temples of Angkor Wat in the background. The young women wear traditional Khmer clothing.
The work symbolises the kindness and strength of this Asian people and the beauty of Cambodia and tropical Asia in general.
It also literally and figuratively symbolises the country's (tropical) warmth. The people there are warm and friendly and welcoming.

As a photographer and artist, I live in Cambodia for half the year and immerse myself completely in the culture. Learning Khmer is an indispensable part of this.

The work was created with a combination of photography and AI.
