On a deserted beach on Texel stands a weathered wooden pole, half-sunken in the sand. Time has visibly done its work: the wood is split, splintered, scarred by years of wind, salt and tide. All around, a gentle silence reigns. The landscape is empty, just dunes on the horizon and a sky that blends almost seamlessly into the beach.
Everything is hushed. Yet this one pole tells a story, of ebb and flow, of elements that come and go, of transience and enduring traces. Here, Texel shows its rough, honest face. No frills, no fuss. Just the essence. It is one of those places where you stop for a moment, listen to the wind and feel how time slows down. A reminder of how powerful simplicity can be.
